Since Obama won the Nobel for what he might do, should congress give him the Congressional Medal of Honor?
Most people agree he got the Nobel Peace Prize for what he'll do in the future to promote world peace, not for anything he's done so far. Since he is the 'commander in chief' of our armed forces, he should be eligible for the Medal of Honor, right? What if he does something really heroic in that position in the future? Since he is practically deity-like now, it's almost a cinch that he will. So why not give him the Medal of Honor now to go with his Nobel Prize?
The one and only thing that came out of his selection as a recipient of the prize was that the Internationale Olympic Committee has so much more good common sense than does the committee selecting the "peace prize" , and having said that, I don't think a whole lot of the IOC, either . Not because they didn't choose Chicago (a real bad choice IMO) but it too has become more political than it should be.
