Have you ever tried to delete files on your USB drive in OS X, to see that he did not win the free space on the flash disk? It is a failure or error, it's just that OS X works a bit different from Windows. There are two ways to permanently remove files from your flash drive.
The best way to permanently remove the files on your flash drive is:
1) Connect USB hard disk on your Mac
2) Delete files no longer needed, using the Finder
3) Clean the garbage
The disadvantage this method is that it also deleted the trash files on the hard drive of your computer.
You can remove the permanent files on your USB drive, but it is much more complicated and requires prior knowledge of the administration. Here's how:
1) Connect USB hard disk on your Mac
2) Delete files no longer needed, using the Finder
3) Open Terminal (located in Applications -> Utilities)
4) Type "cd / Volumes" (without quotes)
5) Type "ls" (no quotes) For a list of items connected to your computer
6) Find the name of your USB drive in the list. Say you called usbdrive "
7) Type "cd usbdrive"
When you delete a file in your USB memory, OS X creates a folder named. "Trash" (stock symbol "hidden"). So, for remove all hidden files, type "REM-R .*" (without quotes)
9) Answer "y" if you are prompted to confirm the deletion
If all this sounds confusing, go with the first method of garbage disposal. It's much easier to remove files from your flash drive in OS X.
