Where can I get a copy of Final Fantasy VII/7 for the original Playstation?
I want this for my birthday, and my parents would, but we can't find it. Any help would help. And please don't answer with eBay. My dad doesn't trust that site.
Until recently, you could still buy it, but it was withdrawn a while ago ... and for a reason it seems.
Recently, Gamespot hinted very heavilly that the much desired remake of Final Fantasy VII is on the way. This will bring it up to the standard of graphics in Crisis Core and Advent Children. When you think about it, it does make sense. Crisis Core and Advent Children look very grown up in style and content, but the original game was a bit childish in parts. I'm not complaining about that - I adore FFVII - but the old game looks poor graphically these days and the controls were pretty bad. Some of the side quests, special challenges or arcade sequences were very hard because the controls were so bad.
Gamespot hinted that it would be available in the 'near future'. Near future for Square-Enix could be two or three years time, but I get the feeling it could be closer to a year from now.
It might be better to look for something else for your birthday this year and pencil in FFVII: The Shiny New Version for next year ... along with the PS3 to play it on.
