Lara Croft: Tomb Raider for PS2 help?

I rented Lara Croft Tomb Raider for ps2 at the video store and it doesn't come with directions. So I have know idea how to kill anyone, because I've been pressing the square button for like a half hour and the first "bad guy" hasn't died yet! I know, I sound like a complete idiot but I have know idea what I'm doing! D:

Which game? There are 8 Tomb Raider games.Please specify.

In games 1-5: Press triangle and she'll draw her weapons and automatically target. X to shoot. Triangle to put them away.

In AoD: R1 to draw weapon and to shoot, I'm pretty sure is X.
If you're playing AoD, go to the menu and LOAD the weapon. That is one of the many reasons I hate that game. I ran around for 2 levels without weapons because I didn't know you had to load it first.

In Legend and Anniversary: Hold L1 to draw weapons and R2 to shoot. She'll automatically target as well, but to change targets, use the left joystick.
